1. Who We Are & What We Do

Is Auto's Supply Stop a general auto parts store?+
No. We are Specialist Refinishing Suppliers. Unlike a general mechanical shop, we do not sell brakes or engine parts. We specialize in the chemistry of professional automotive paint, coatings, abrasives, and body repair — carrying professional lines including 3M, Roberlo, U-POL, Car-Rep, Pro Form, and more, alongside our exclusive Valspar Automotive and DeBeer Refinish systems.

What makes your paint systems "Exclusive"?+
Auto's Supply Stop is the only authorized distributor in Southwestern Ontario for Valspar Automotive and DeBeer Refinish. While our physical storefront is in Windsor, we hold the exclusive distribution rights for the entire Windsor-Essex, Sarnia-Lambton, and Chatham-Kent corridor. This exclusivity applies to our professional paint systems — our DIY products and online store serve customers across all of Canada.

2. Online Store & Custom Paint Builder

Can I order online?+
Yes! Our online store at www.autossupply.ca is open for orders across Canada. Browse our product catalogue, build custom aerosols, and have everything shipped directly to your door — anywhere in the country.Online sales are currently available within Canada only.
What is the Custom Spray Builder?+
Our Custom Spray Builder lets you create a professional-grade custom aerosol matched to your vehicle. Select your make, model, and year — or enter your paint code directly from your door jamb — and we'll build it to order. Available for cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, and industrial equipment.
Can you match a colour if I don't have a paint code? (Motorcycles, ATVs, Industrial)+
Yes. We specialize in “difficult” matches.
  • The Scan: Bring a small part (like a fuel door, side panel, or cover) to our Windsor shop. We use a spectrophotometer camera to read the paint's current state and create a custom formula.
  • The Search: We have access to specialized databases for Fleet, Industrial, and Powersports (Yamaha, Honda, etc.) that aren't available in retail stores.

3. Professional & B2B Partnerships

Why should my collision shop switch from PPG to DeBeer or Valspar?+
Our “PPG Switch” program is built on three pillars:
  1. Profitability: Significant reduction in material cost per job compared to PPG — shops typically see savings in the range of 10–15%.
  2. Support: We are local. If you have a colour-match issue, we're a phone call away — not a 1-800 number. Windsor-area shops can have us on-site the same day.
  3. Accuracy: DeBeer's European waterborne technology offers exceptional colour-match accuracy with superior hiding power.
Do you offer wholesale/jobber pricing?+
Yes. High-volume accounts and professional shops are eligible for our tiered Jobber Program with dedicated pricing levels based on your volume.

4. Products & Body Panels

Do you sell body parts?+
We carry a specific “Safety Exception” inventory: structural rust-repair panels (rocker panels, cab corners, and wheel arches). These are essential for vehicles failing Ontario safety inspections due to body perforation.
What brands do you carry?+
We stock professional-grade products from:
  • Valspar Automotive & DeBeer Refinish — Exclusive to Auto's Supply Stop in Southwestern Ontario (Professional accounts)
  • 3M — Abrasives, tapes, and prep products
  • Roberlo — Fillers, primers, and clearcoats
  • U-POL — Body repair and refinishing products
  • Car-Rep — Aerosol touch-up solutions
  • Pro Form — Adhesives, sealants, and undercoatings
Browse the full catalogue at www.autossupply.ca
How is custom paint priced?+
Pricing depends on the finish tier and the size you order:
  • Standard — solid colours (whites, blacks, solid reds).
  • Metallic — contains metallic flake.
  • Pearl / Specialty — pearls and vibrant/specialty colours.
  • Tri-Coat (2-Stage) — needs a separate ground coat plus a tinted top coat (two mixes), priced as a set.
When you pick a colour in the builder, it shows that tier's price range before you choose a size — no surprises.

5. Pro Tips for DIY Custom Painting

I bought a 2-Step Aerosol Kit. Which one goes first?+
  • Step 1 — Basecoat (Colour): This provides the pigment. It dries to a dull, matte finish.
  • Step 2 — Clearcoat (Shine): This provides the gloss, durability, and UV protection.
What is the best technique for spraying custom aerosols?+
Our professional aerosols use a high-pressure “fan” pattern. For a factory finish, follow these rules:
  1. Test the Nozzle: Shake for 2 minutes. Spray a test card to check the fan direction.
  2. Distance: Keep the can 6–10 inches from the surface.
  3. The 50/50 Overlap: Each pass should overlap the previous one by 50% to prevent “tiger stripes.”
  4. Flash Times: Wait 5–10 minutes between coats. The paint should be tacky, not bone-dry.
  5. The Drop Coat (Metallics Only): Apply the final colour coat slightly further away (12 inches) to “mist” the metallic flakes evenly.
  6. Clearcoat is Different: Clearcoat should be applied in steady, “wet” passes so the paint flows together for a high-gloss shine.

6. Shipping & Dangerous Goods

Do you ship across Canada?+
Yes — we ship Canada-wide from our Windsor warehouse.
  • Non-Hazardous (tape, abrasives, PPE): Shipped to all provinces and territories.
  • Dangerous Goods (paints, aerosols, thinners): Shipped via ground to all 10 provinces. We cannot ship DG items to the Territories (YT, NT, NU) or by air due to regulatory restrictions.
Online orders ship across Canada. International shipping is not available at this time.
Why is shipping specialized for paint?+
Most of our products are classified as Dangerous Goods (DG). They require specialized UN-rated packaging and DG-certified ground carriers. We cannot use Canada Post for paints, aerosols, or solvents.
Can I pick up my order?+
Yes! Local pickup at Unit 2, 2800 Jefferson Blvd, Windsor, ON N8T 3G9 is highly recommended. It's the fastest way to get your products and avoids all DG shipping surcharges. Select “Local Pickup” at checkout.

7. Returns & Technical Support

Can I return custom-mixed paint?+
No. Custom-mixed colours are created specifically for your vehicle and cannot be resold. We always recommend a “spray-out” test on a scrap piece before painting your vehicle.
What is your return policy for stock products?+
Unopened, unused stock products may be returned within 30 days of purchase. Contact us to initiate a return — a Return Authorization (RA) number is required before sending anything back. See our full Return & Exchange Policy.
How do I handle a technical problem?+
Refinishing is chemistry. If you have issues with drying, colour-matching, or finish quality, contact our technical team at the Windsor warehouse. We have the expertise to help you troubleshoot your booth conditions or application technique.📞 1-519-419-2805 · ✉️ support@autossupply.ca
