Frequently Asked Questions

Colour matching, paint tiers, sizes, prep supplies, shipping & pickup.

Can you match my vehicle's exact colour?+
Yes. Use our Custom Colour Builder — pick your make & model, or enter the colour code from the sticker inside your driver's door jamb. We mix to match. Because every vehicle ages differently in the sun, we can't 100% guarantee a match from a code alone; for a guaranteed match, bring the part or vehicle in so we can formulate against it.
Where do I find my colour code?+
Check the sticker inside your driver's door jamb (or glovebox / under the hood on some vehicles). It's usually a short code next to “Color,” “C/TR,” or “Paint.” Type it into the builder's code field and we'll take it from there.
How is custom paint priced?+
Pricing depends on the finish tier and the size you order:
  • Standard — solid colours (whites, blacks, solid reds).
  • Metallic — contains metallic flake.
  • Pearl / Specialty — pearls and vibrant/specialty colours.
  • Tri-Coat (2-Stage) — needs a separate ground coat plus a tinted top coat (two mixes), priced as a set.
When you pick a colour in the builder, it shows that tier's price range before you choose a size — so there are no surprises.
What sizes can I order?+
Aerosol spray can (great for touch-ups & spot repairs), ½ pint, pint, quart, and gallon. The builder shows the live price for each size in your colour's tier. Larger sizes are the best value for full resprays.
Aerosol vs. pint/quart — which do I need?+
Aerosols are ready-to-spray and ideal for chips, scratches and small spots. Pints, quarts and gallons are for gun application on panels or full resprays. If you're unsure, call us — we'll point you to the right size.
Do you carry primers, clearcoats and prep supplies?+
Yes — epoxy, urethane, self-etch and high-build primers; 2K and single-stage clearcoats; plus abrasives (sanding discs, pads, papers), fillers, masking & tape, thinners / reducers, and safety gear. Browse by category on the homepage.
Solventborne (Valspar) vs. water-based (DeBeer) — what's the difference?+
Solventborne systems are workhorses for full panels and collision work. Water-based systems are lower-VOC and great for spot repairs. Product cards are tagged SOLVENT or WATER so you can tell at a glance.
Do you offer local pickup?+
Yes — in-store pickup at our Windsor and Sarnialocations. Choose pickup at checkout and we'll have your order ready.
How does shipping work?+
We ship across the region with prepaid shipping at checkout. Custom-mixed paint is made to order (typically 1–2 business days) before it ships or is ready for pickup.
Are you a pro / body shop? Is there wholesale pricing?+
Yes. Our Professional Portal offers jobber (trade) pricing for qualified shops. Apply for PRO access to see your rate.
What's your return policy?+
See our full Return & Exchange Policy. Note: custom-mixed paint & aerosols are final sale(they're made specifically for you). All other returns require a Return Authorization (RA) number first.
Do you provide technical data sheets (TDS)?+
Technical data sheets for our products are available on request — contact us at support@autossupply.ca and we'll send the sheet for your product. (We're rolling out downloadable TDS PDFs on product pages.)
